 Sunlight, Windom, Eolus from Purgatory

Had a great trip August 20-23 and met several 14ers.com members up there... and some goats...

So that was your pack?!

Hey Brad,
I was with the group that was coming down Eolus when you were going up solo on Saturday. So, we rounded the corner on the way down Eolus and saw the marmots going to town on your pack. One of them ran away with a piece of paper in his mouth...it was pretty weird to see.
So, anyway, we packed up everything we could, as stuff was strewn. They had gotten into some of the compartments. I wanted to zip it up and put it on top of the rock, but my hiking partner said it would be better to leave it unzipped, else the marmots would chew through the pack. So that's what we did. Hope you understand our intentions were good! Congrats on the summits. What a bummer the timing of the Eolus climb on Saturday...as that band of clouds broke and led to a pretty clear nite.

Thanks for trying Jim. No biggy. I lost a $2 flashlight and an un-needed map. Otherwise they just chewed through one of my Nalgene lid holders. I kept my pack with me the next day.

I take it you didn't make the train that day?

Brad
