Arrived at the TH about 6am from Colorado Springs. The TH was almost full at that time.
Despite that, we did not see all that many people on the mountain. It was a nice peaceful
hike with great weather for our first Sawatch peak.
Great trail all the way up...however, has some pretty steep sections between treeline and
the upper shoulder. Made for some painful knees on the way down! Really! We could only
laugh at ourselves as we descended.
Glad to have done this one and looking forward to the next! Hope you enjoy the photo tour!

Descents used to tear up my knees and ankles until I bought a pair of trekking poles. I was amazed at how much stress they took off my joints. Might not be a bad investment for you as you climb through the Sawatch 14ers.
