 4 San Juan's in 3 days

a weekend in Lake City reaped 4 14ers.....stayed at nice cabin/house there, very nice, but expensive.

1. handies (Sat 7/10)

started up at 10 am.. twas the day of the 100 miler HardRock.. which was very motiviating.. (me working my way up, while these great folks were on their 70th mile with 30 more to go!).
A GREAT trailhead.. lots of camping space... right between Handies and Redcloud/sunshine.

easy route, picture perfect.... got to summit at 1pm... back to trailhead after 3... just in time as we caught rainstorm and thunder in the lower valley

2. Wetterhorn (Sun 7/11)

anohter great trailhead....and route....another great valley though kinda long... beautiful.... the top of the mountain is fun.. certaily a class 3 at the top.... and tricky to stay on route... don't be tricked to get off route.. it can only be riskier....and what a view from the top... just gorgeous... and going down isn't much easier.

3. Sunshine (7/12)
Started the duo at 6am.. finished at 1pm... only major issue was the HUGE WIND.. I handn't used walking poles to keep me upright before.... boy was it windy at the top and heading between Sunshine & Redcloud... just huge winds...

4. Redcloud (7/12)
easy traverse between the two.. over the top.. standard route/path....heading up to top of Redcloud is walking up rocks......we headed back to sunshine .. but evidently the faster way is looping down redcloud then back down that valley to the trailhead....

great weekend.. 6 14ers in 4 days.
