 Harvard/Columbia

finally finished Harvard after failing out 2 years ago

left trailhead at 1015pm.. got to treeline at midnight...

started up Harvard at 5am.. summited just after 8....

left the summit at 830 heading for the traverse to columbia..... this was really really tough.

We avoided the ridgeline, which meant going down (to left/north) ... typical bolder / rock field on way down....worked our way around to a safe way up Columbias North west side.... headed up.... and finally reached summit at 1pm... this wasn't risky, but for some reason just really tough slog.....and going down was only going to be harder....the descent was just steep and full of loose dirt/rock...

Reached treeline at 4pm.... packed up camp and reached treeline at 5:30. just a tough slog (maybe it had to do w/late night hike in).
But onto Lake City and the San Juans!!!!
