lordhelmut Way to find the isolation     2010-07-26 18:43:16 Nice job Kevin. Its too bad our agendas don't line up more often, a lot of these peaks you are climbing are ones of high interest for me. Did you happen to check out ”The Cleaver” at all? That looked really interesting as I noticed it descending off Alice towards Boulder-Grand Pass. I'm pretty sure its right next to Mahana Pk. It seems like one can cover a lot of miles quickly in Wild Basin (at least in the trees when the views are gone). Some of my best hiking experiences have been in Rocky Mountain, far from the ice cream and gift shops in the sickness that is downtown Estes. It's a pristine place indeed! Brian, I didn't get a look at the Clever. It sure looks like a cool summit from the pic of it on LOJ! I was hoping to get to Isolation this summer but the weekends are passing too quick. I hiked the 5 miles up to Ouzel Lake last May and took a good look up that drainage.
