 Holy Cross North Ridge

We hiked Holy Cross via Half Moon Pass and the North Ridge (standard route) on a beautiful Monday. We started just before 6AM, stopped for b-fast just past E. Cross Creek and were on the summit by 10:30. There is one small snow field on the way up shortly after you hit the ridge but you can easily walk around it. There is some snow left on the east face of the ridge but again you can walk on the rocks instead and it seemed like a better idea to me anyway. The final climb up to the summit was pretty tough but the view from the top was stupendous, and there was no wind so it was even warm enough to hang out for a little while and bask in the beauty of the mountains. Following cairns on the way down was tricky but I basically just walked towards the big grassy spot on the ridge where I knew the trail back down to E. Cross Creek was. Then after the not-as-bad-as-I-thought-it-was-going-to-be cllimb back over Half Moon Pass we were back before 4PM.
