Looks like a great area     11/23/2009 00:24
That looks like a nice area for late fall/early spring hikes. Your pictures almost remind me of some areas in the Retirement Range. Wooded, long and mellow.

I‘m sure I‘ve said this before to you on the trail, but if I‘m ever in a situation where I need to survive off the land, I hope you‘re with me. Your knowledge of the plant world is amazing.

This year‘s installment     01/19/2011 03:38
You seem to choose interesting peaks on your each of your trips to NM & AZ and the botanist‘s eye view makes for a great read.
I can‘t believe the sign on the summit is still there. It was rickety back in 2003.
It‘s too bad you were socked in--with >3k of prominence, you can see a long way from the summit.
That area has fantastic fall color, if anyone happens to be in ABQ next year.
