Grizzly Peak / Sniktau
Quick overview of conditions on 10/31/09. There were snow drifts, but most of the way was on solid snow. Except for the shady side of Grizzly, didn‘t posthole much past the ankles or calf. The snow over to Sniktau was as good as I have seen it, almost no postholing. On the ridge, heading up to point 13,177‘ (Cupid) toward Grizzly, looking back on the route down from point 12,915‘.
Looking back on the point Cupid, near the top of the point 12,936‘
Looking ahead toward Grizzly
On the summit of Grizzly looking back over the route
Looking down over Grizzly’s north ridge
Coming down the gully about half way up Grizzly. Knee to thigh deep postholing
Looking up at point 12,936‘ on the way back. Solid snow
And a close up of the final push to Grizzly
Cupid on the way back
Past point 12,915‘, looking up at the point on the way to Sniktau. Snow is very solid
Looking back from the point
Coming down off the point
Final push up to Sniktau
