Nice trip report Kevin, someday I would like to do this traverse as well, but hopefully not with any weather racing
Those distant rumbles of thunder across I-70 were on Mt Silverhorne, Red Peak and Buffalo Mtn. I was across the valley from it (at my car by then) having just climbed Ptarmigan Peak, made me glad I didn‘t try and tack on the UN 12er point that was 3 1/4 miles north of Ptarmigan - might have got interesting.

Great TR     09/23/2009 01:26
I‘ve eyed this ever since I went skiing for the first time at Breck in ‘99. Now I know it‘s doable! Thanks for the inspiration, maybe a good goal for next summer along with the presidentials in NH...
