Getting off the Couch: The Three Peak Challenge

I don't usually bother doing a write-up for summer 14er climbs anymore because there is just such a plethora of info out there already, but I figured that I met so many people out on the trail, that I may as well report back to how it all went down.

Nate and I did complete them all, an my feet still don't feel quite normal, but either way you can see the full write up on my blog:

GREAT JOB     2011-02-04 17:22:16
I did a solo traverse to South from North last week. I descended from South thinking the whole time how much easier it would have been to re-traverse back to North. I also thought about how many people actually add Pyramid to the trip. I‘m assuming not too many. You guys kicked ass. You‘re buddy is going to think the other 14ers are pretty simple after his start.

when I talk my friends into a 14er, I usually look no further than a slog up Longs or something. You are sick, but have quite a sense of adventure and good sports for friends as well.

Some of those pics actually do the exposure on those peaks justice, and that last picture you ”bothered” to take was a good one.

I was about 50 yds off to your left as I descended the amphitheatre with Chris (Cbauer10) and you guys chatted. Wish I could have met you and say hello. (But I was having too much fun boot skiing and catching whatever pathetic glissades I could eke out...)

Very impressive feat! Perhaps in another lifetime, should I come back as, say, a mountain goat, I would consider trying something like that...!

A big day!     2011-05-02 08:23:28
When I bumped into you around noon I immediately assumed you were going for the trifecta! Well done - to you and NATE! Thanks for taking a break to talk 14er skiing. Lets touch base in the spring.

So does this mean the other project is off? Or was that a warm-up?

It could be on...     2009-08-26 08:25:25
Maybe with more of the white fluffy stuff it could be more fun though.

Nice work man...     2010-11-30 10:28:48
getting all three in a day, that's one monster vertical gain. Got any clients who are actually interested in this insanity?

Actually...     2009-09-07 20:27:29
Yeah, they had two groups attempt the same this weekend, but weather wasn‘t great, and I don‘t think either group made it.
