 Standard Route in 9.25 hours

My brother and I got to the trailhead campsite at about 6:00 PM and were lucky enough to grab one of the two, still empty spots. Cost: $20. Our plan was to go to bed A.S.A.P. and wake up by 2AM to get ready to go. After loud neighbors kept us up, and others woke us up with their alarm, we woke up at 1:45 AM and got ready to go.

2:15 AM - We signed in at the TH register.
2:30 AM - Arrived at first signed junction.
3:20 AM - Turned left at tree line/ Battle Mtn Jctn
3:45 AM - We reached Chasm Lake junction - the weather turned ferociously windy and cold so we put on fleeces and shells shortly after.
4:20 AM - Headed up E Longs Trail
5:10 AM - Reached Boulder Field
5:40 AM - Got to the Keyhole - headlamps off. The bullseyes were a little hard to find at first because we took the ridge to the right of the Keyhole at the ranger's suggestion. It was an easier, although marker-less route.

7:05 AM - Stood on the summit. Some of the best views yet after 18 fourteeners. It was sunny but windy so we didn't linger long. Just enough time to sign in, eat, and snap some gorgeous pictures.
7:30 AM - Headed back down.
8:35 AM - Back to the Keyhole. Now it was very crowded with people who have and were deciding to turn around.
9:10 AM - Back to the Boulder Field. We took our time getting down, looking for lost gear and taking more than our share of pictures.
10:35 AM - We were back to tree line and already ready to take off our boots.
11:30 AM - We signed out of the TH register. Boots off and on our way to Boulder for a burrito at Illegal Pete's.

The wind kept pushing hard, but we pushed harder, trying our best to stay warm. Perhaps if we could have seen where we were going we would have lingered on the way up, but our fitness level allowed a quick summit of a trail that we were warned would take us 13 hours.

I gotta keep busy! I don‘t want to see the week when I don‘t have time for at least one 14er. My brother did really well on Longs. I was dropping him when I lead, but when he was in front he still pushed hard, hence the solid pace. He and I did Pikes his second day in town and he was definitely hurting, the acclimation helped!
