 Brief FYI‘s on Holy Cross

Sorry, no photos, but a couple of quick FYI‘s for any of you planning to do Holy Cross soon. 1) The mosquitos are fierce this year, the worst I have ever encoutered on a 14er. They even pester you above 13,000 feet! Bring the best repellent you can get and plan on using it a lot. 2) I climbed with "unclegar". We are both 49 years old in good shape with over 20 14ers each. This is a long and strenuous hike, it took us 10 hours and 45 minutes round trip from the trailhead parking lot. Be in good shape before you attempt this one!

Happy climbing everyone!

Good advice. We‘re planning on climbing Holy Cross tomorrow and I‘m horribly susceptible to mosquitos! We‘ll be sure to load up.
