 Massive Southwest Route

Sorry about the delay in getting this report out but hope it helps the next group.

Went up the Southwest Route. I remembered from last year that once you get to around 13000 feet this time of year you run into a big snow field that easily throws you off route. Remembering from my mistake last year to not cross the snow field. Once you get to the big snow field go straight up the snow field (stay on the dirt/rocks) on the left. See attached picture of my dad sitting next to the snow field at 13000 feet. This will put you back onto the main trail. I put up temporary Cairnes for people to see (hopefully someone will be kind enough to rip the temporary Cairnes down once the snow melts). The snow should be melted by the end of July and the main trail obvious again. Everyone gets off route this time of year due to the natural tendancy to cross the snow field then go straight up the scree fields but this will cause a lot more time than trying to find the main trail to the left (west) of the big snow field. >
