(And Jack, the yellow lab.)
And we met up with Breckskier on the trail.

Several of us arrived Friday night to camp at the trailhead in the lower parking lot next to the Young Life camp-Frontier Ranch. After we got up at 4:30am, then we drove up the road to just beyond the radio towers. We parked at the first switchback after the towers.

At first light we were to witness that the Arkansas river valley was buried in clouds.

What a sight to behold! The cameras came out….
Image

The sunrise was beautiful to be above the clouds! The scenery in the mountains....I mean, this is why we do this right?!
Image

Breckskier and TylerStorm round the turn off the road. The road was blocked here with snow for anyone wanting to drive up to the cabin.

Our first view of Princeton peaking over the tundra.
Image

Princeton looks so far away from here! Those couloirs look like they would be fun to glissade, even though no one went for it.

Looking back east at the "cloud shroud." For a short while, the clouds poured over the ridgeline which was pretty cool to watch it flow.

A lone climber on the Tigger ridge. What a shot!

All 5 of us made it to the summit and posed for the obligatory summit shot. Even Jack cooperated.

Jack was all frisky and enjoyed playing in the summit snow!

globreal and Jack. This is Jack's 5th 14er. Good job Jack!

The northeast ridgeline. The clouds in the valley are dissipating.

Looking north at Harvard and Columbia.

Heading down the southern ridgeline.

Not a lot of snow left on Princeton. But what snow was there was easier to heel-step than to hike the talus.

One of those cool "cloud" moments.

And, the wildflowers are coming out on the tundra. Nice colors!

And 6 teenagers from Kansas….climbing in cotton t-shirts…some in jeans…some in sweats and hoodies. Tennis shoes with those ankle socks. None had gloves. Please don't do that again!

Look at what we just climbed today. What a glorious day to be in the mountains. The clouds in the valley below made for a visually stunning day! Awesome. Oh, I love God's creation!

Oh yeah, a lot more pleasant without all that snow (from a couple of months ago)! Congrats on another great day, Britt.
