 Mashers on Massive

Mount Massive 14,421′ East Face to Southwest Slopes 5/24/09
Got out for a solo trip yesterday. 4 wheeled up the Halfmoon road to the North Massive trailhead. That's a fun road. Not hard but with one nice corner. Got to the trailhead and started at the crack of 7am. Made good time to the summit and skied off the top....

Glad to see this one still holding. I wouldn‘t mind trying to pick it up this season. Thanks for the beta!

Nice trip report. I am thinking of tackling this bad-boy soon. How far up did you get on the 4wd road? Also, about how long did it it take you to summit & was the trail pretty easy to follow or did you lose it a few times?

I drove all the way to the North Trailhead. There isn‘t any snow. There is one challenging corner but you can just power through it.

The trail was good till about 12600 then it was intermittent. I just worked up the ridge, which was largely snow free. It took me 7:30 hours. It snowed on and off so I made a bunch of clothing changes and lost about an hour. I also had my skis and stuff so my pack was about 35lbs
