 West Ridge & Widowmaker

After returning to our cache on the bench above twin lakes, we had a quick bite to eat, and started booting up to the ridge for Windom. The view of the 'Widowmaker couloir' from the top of Sunlight had been encouraging, and though I was a little worn, I was exited to be able to finish everything I came here for. Not only was this trip productive, but I also had a lot of fun.

On the ridge, we had one little scare when Brit tweaked her back while hoisting her backpack. Back injuries can be unpredictable, and I was thinking about how far out there from help we were. We offered to split up some weight, but she declined and kept going on to the summit anyway. Strong.

Jordan on the West Ridge to the second summit of the day. He had cell phone reception on the summit (I think he was on Sprint).

We started on the SE summit, and traversed over the south couloir
to the NW summit through a narrow gap.

This was a worthy run in itself. I was able to ride back to camp again, but had to stray a couple times to hold the line on a snowboard.

We camped another night, and packed out for the train in the morning.
