Bushwacking Guanilla Pass /sunglass stealing Evans

Image

Bushwacking it through willow bushes from Bierstadt Trail just before the first ridge on my way to the gully (couldn't find Guanilla Pass Trailhead in snow)
Image

Mt Spalding after crossing the ponds then following LEFT side of gully(going up). Knee deep snow in spots!
Image

the gully from the top
Image

snowfield at the top of the gully. I wandered left towards spalding, but realized I needed to redirect my course towards the rocky point sticking up behind the snowfield's horizon (which I thought was Bierstadt at first)
Image

Past the snowfield looking to my right at the Sawtooth Ridge connecting Bierstadt. Met a couple daring enough to try it that day.
Image

the rock cropping sticking out from before the snowfield. Used rock cairns to traverse around it with nice view of Abyss Lake.
Image

ahhh the quiet view of Evans highest parking lot
Image

Enjoying some solitude, yes solitude on Evans, before being joined by a couple
Image

awesome view of Summit Lake
Image

coming down, right before entering gully and one of two short stretchs of actual trail
Image

a friend who had a baby nearby and not to keen on me

Guanilla Pass under construction Mon-Fri at various times of the day. The Wednesday before I was forced to turn around at the start of the pass and attempt Evans from Echo Lake Trailhead, adding 6 miles roundtrip to my ...again attempt to beat daylight
