 Ten Mile-Mosquito range

My husband and I are coming from out of state. We were told that these peaks were closed but I see that they have been hiked today--is there a way to access differently than the traditional routes from the CO 14ner‘s book? Is anyone aware of what the scoop is on being told by the rangers that they are closed?
THANKS

I climbed Democrat twice already so this time I took Cameron, Lincoln, and Bross last Thursday and had no problem with anyone -- although the wind was extremely high; there‘re now some patches of snow on them: Just remain on the trails at all time.

Actually, according to the Mosquito Range Heritage Initiave, they are open via the Kite Lake routes only. They are closed from Windy Ridge road area, and from the Roberts Rd / Quartzville (e.side of Lincoln). Stop in the moutain gear store, Out Ya Go, in Alma for more information.
