 Kite Lake

What Everyone Had To Say

Nicole: It was amazing fun. The way down sucked.

Patty: I felt very proud of myself.

Michelle: The skree trails were very scary, painful, and difficult.

Foster: The southwest trail from Mt. Bross was a difficult descent.

Laura: Remember to put on sunscreen...although high sock tan lines are awesome!

Amanda: I felt sick but I still made it up.

Laura S.: It was amazing!

Ms. Walford (leaning three feet across the table with a fawning smile): I really like these! (Regarding pickle spears, of course.)

Becca: Now I feel like a superhero.

I guess sum it up, everyone had an awesome time on this hike. We had some near-death instances (i.e. Laura almost starting an avalanche and Ms. Walford wiping out on the rocks), but otherwise the trip was very enjoyable. Could the guys cross country team handle this extreme hike? Clearly not.

Did you access from Kite Lake and did you have any issues with accessing? We are coming from out of state planning this hike and were told that these were closed?

Yes, we parked at Kite Lake and accessed the trail head from there. We had no trouble accessing any of the trails, and they were very easy to follow. Although there were periodic sings that claim that the trail is closed for restoration, many hikers proceeded anyway.
