I could identify with your ascent and esp. descent of Harvard. I climbed it on June 8th (no skis or snowshoes),last year alone from North Cottonwood TH. The snow was nearly everywhere and it took 7 hours to summit thus preventing an attempt at Columbia. I had an adventure during a glissade from near the summit. Shortly after starting the glissade I found myself heading headfirst down the snowfield gathering ever greater speed towards some jagged rocks below. Images of Talus Monkey flashed before my eyes but I had also tied my ice-axe to my wrist and managed to self-arrest well before being impaled by the rocks. I quietly thanked Talus Monkey for making me very careful with my ice-axe. Apart from this scare the toughest part of the journey was getting my Accord to/from the TH.

It was really good getting out with you again man. You have picked up on the skiing up hill skills really well, now we need to work on the downhill part Not to shabby for a less than 25 day skier though

Yeah, frickin sweet trip homie. I need Jetboil. Scott/Amy, thanks for some of the postholes . Malcolm, your experience sounds eerily familiar. I got into an uncontrolled slide during my descent of that area in ‘06. My climbing partners jumped in my path and stopped me.
