A fine day in the mountains with good people. A picture TR:

Adimmen's abbreviated TR on TGR:

Note: the name in parenthesis below each image denotes the photographer if not the author.

First Light:

Skinning up Yankee Boy Basin:

Virgin Snows:

Kids with Crayons:

Endless Lines:

Getting Higher:

Our Goal in Sight:

Lets climb this one!

Fine Powder Booting:

Or Some Steep Trenching:

Andy Charging:

The Steep Upper Face:

The fresh 12"+ of snow made the upper face a bit sporty!

Andy Likes Big Skis:

A perfectly calm summit:

Do we have to leave? What's that you say, we get to play with ropes? Well, alright let's go.

A large rock provided ample support for the 95' rappel:

(Adimmen both)

Jordan waits:

Pack that BS, its time to ski !

(JCWhite both)

Steeper than expected:

Jordan cuts the slope:

Fresh 16" of wintry snow. This has got to be a dream?

(JCWhite both)

Rolls over a bit:

Does a funnel come to mind?

Andy rips the steep pow…

Please don't wake me up.

(JCWhite, Adminnen. JCWhite)

Neat Couloir!

Jordan gettin' his:

Umm, does this go through?

It chokes out a bit… where to go from here?

Well, lets follow the snow, it probably knows…

(JCWhite all)

Hey guys, I think its getting even better!

i.e. DEEPER!

Adimmen trying to find the bottom:

(JCWhite top two, doumall last)

Jordan's turn…

Neat One!

Pow pow pow pow pow pow pow pow pow!

(Adimmen both)

Apron Time! Andy:

(JCWhite 1 and 2, doumall 3)

I love aprons:

Especially with a fresh coat of the white stuff:

So does Jordan:

(Adimmen 1 2 and 4, doumall 3)

Serpent Slayed:

Hey look! The desert!

Time to hike out…

…to Lavender Col

Jordan busts some crust on the ski down into Yankee Boy Basin. Birthday chutes behind, our ascent route:

The overhanging area on the shelf road was a bit sketchy. As we skied up to it, we watched a huge piece of ice fall onto the road. Safe to say we trucked through this pretty quickly making sure not to walk under any of the ice.

(Adimmen last)

Sorry for all the images, there were so many good ones I didn't put in! One doesnt often get so lucky on a deep powder descent of a 14er.

Without a doubt, the best snow yet on a 14er. Thanks for the great day guys.

Well done fellas!     2008-05-05 07:01:32
Another great TR! Saturday was awesome... I was on top of Humboldt!

Powder!     2008-05-05 08:29:15
Wow, you don‘t get that very often! Superb photos!!!!

Worth every foot     2010-11-30 10:28:44
That was one long day, but it was worth each of those 6,300' and 22 miles

classics     2008-05-05 09:21:57
In the last 10 days, you and Andy hit the NF of N Maroon, Landry line, and now the snake in pow! What a run of peaks! A slog for marginal conditions on a collegiate might be in order, just for you guys to put 14er skiing back into perspective

nice shot     2008-05-05 11:12:47
that first shot is coffee table book material, pretty amazing colors in there. Hell of a report, tons of solid photos and amazing snow conditions to boot, I wish I could‘ve said the same for Yale‘s coral reef crap.

Nice     2008-05-05 12:20:49
That snow looks awesome. Perhaps a snorkel would have come in handy.

Bobo     2009-02-09 10:15:15
Ya, two 8mm 30 meters were perfect for that rap. Thanks for the comment!
