Congrats..     2008-04-17 07:56:24
on finally getting to ski the summit of Shavano. That is a long mountain to hike and your right, there usually is not much snow up there. I‘ve had the ”luxury” of laboring up that hill 2 times now. Great report and pictures. Those snowmobiles sure could come in handy right now!!

Nice!     2008-04-17 08:31:40
I‘m still shocked there was continuous snow from the summit to the trailhead. Amazing. Don‘t worry, I paid for dropping my boards 150‘ below the summit - I nailed a rock in the Angel that required some repair work. Great day with you guys!

Well Done     2008-04-17 08:40:17
Nicely done Jordan, Andy, and Bill. Looks like a stellar ski decent on some nice corn. Do you think it‘ll hold in good shape for a few more weeks? I can‘t get out this weekend, but maybe one of the first weekends in May.

It probably won‘t be in from the summit, but the angel will still have snow in it.

Thanks guys     2008-04-18 13:43:34
Hopefully the snow sticks around in the high country for at least a little longer.

Burnt gear     2008-04-20 12:33:15
I still laugh about that pack (sorry, Jordan). This morning I found more melted chunks of unknown climbing gear. Good stuff!
