Sherman - Fourmile Creek ski descent

The weather on Sunday could have been worse. The wind wasn't bad and the temp was ok. We drove to approx. 10,920 ft., put on chains, made it another 20 feet, sunk in surprisingly quick, backed out, and parked it there.

The snow was so hard and slick it was difficult to skin up anything greater than 25 degrees.

Route wasn't that steep but I dug a pit while waiting for the rest of the group.

On the skins again.

And off again.

Marc had already summited Colorado's 14ers, but seemed particularly excited about Sherman, for the 3rd or 4th time.

With a little use of the poles, we were able to ski / ride the 5 miles back to the car.

Nice meeting up with you covfrrider. Get the boots broken in and we'll hit up another.

Thanks Carl! Good meeting you guys. It was a good training run on the new setup. Helped to get it dialed in. I definitely have to figure out the issue with the boots. I don't think I've ever been in that much pain. Looks like the day got a little better as it went on.
