 Winter Hike Quandry 2-19-08

Since I am on my way home to Wa. state to go overseas and work I decided to stay in Leadville. I was hopeful that staying here at elevation for 3 days would help me make to a 14er. I got up at 5 am and was on the road by 6am. I made it to the trailhead around 7:15 am and was going around 7 am. The weather was excellent. Hardly any wind and all sunshine what a good day! Even though I was the early bird I still was slow enough to get passed up by another guy from Ohio who was making his first attemp on Quandry.
After a lot of huffing and puffing I finally made it up there around 2:30 Pm. I signed the register and made it back down to my car around 5:15 pm. Very long day but very satisfying as I finally was able to acheive an objective and that was to climb a 14er. Now when I am in Qatar I will have a lot of kewl pictures to chill me out when I am in the heat of the desert.
