 Skiing Quandary‘s East Ridge

Three of us started skinning from the road about 7:30am. Shawn (vegabond) and Greg (sudnstop) as we start to come out of the trees and are treated with a great view of the goal. Image

Around 13k we had to take off the skis / board for a short bit. Image

I made the summit around 11:30 (where Shawn was waiting for me with his split board ready). Image

Cruising the flats on the boot packed trail. The trail is also visible on the far left. Image

As I mentioned in my earlier post about the conditions, we skied from the summit to the car except for that short jaunt around 13k. Enjoyed a variety of snow conditions. The coverage wasn't great up high but for the most part the rocks were easily avoided.

Off Trail     2008-02-12 14:41:12
Saw you guys on top. Me and my buddy dropped skiers left of the trail after the ridge at 13,100. Got way off trail, but better pitch and sick turns. Ended up dropping into the cross country ski road and snowshoe‘d it out.

Thank God for GPS.

Looks Fun!     2008-02-12 06:48:09
What a beautiful day. The ski/board trip down looks like lots of fun. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Gotta get skis!     2008-02-12 09:15:41
Man was I envious on the trip back down Sunday! Plodding along in my snowshoes looking at your tracks was killing me!

Unfortunately I was not feeling well and turned around @ 12900. Great going with you guys and the pics make me even more upset about not making the summit!
