Mount Ouray - Back among the hiking

After 8 weeks down due to cryptosporidia I finally got out again on a hike. We chose this since it's a fairly easy hike. The wind kept it from being as easy as I'd hoped, but we still succeeded in reaching the summit. Photos and story here:

Sorry the videos are such big files, but I don't have a tool to downsize them.

Glad to see you recover from your nasty illness, Josh. Nice pics and videos on Ouray. I was on it back in early Oct and didn‘t get a reading on my GPS close to 14K. Maybe the barometer was playing tricks on it while you were up there. I have seen my altimeter fluctuate quite a bit while stationary when the weather is unstable.

My GPS altimeter is GPS based only. No barometer so the weather would have no effect.

good stuff persevering through the wind, we experienced those same gusts across the valley in Shavano yesterday, blew me over 2x and Vince‘s dog‘s mouth and ears were flapping pretty hard. Looks like Ouray had a bit more snow than anywhere else, which isn‘t saying much cause everywher else is bone dry right now.

It seems like Ouray is prone to some nasty winds. On my first attempt I called it quits around treeline when the wind picked me up and bashed my head against the talus

Josh, very helpful TR. I'm sure Britt's crew will be grateful for the maps and route description this weekend. Thanks!

However I believe Britt is headed up the Devil's Armchair route instead of the Marshall Pass route.
