Huron Peak - via Clear Creek trail head

I took my brother-in-law up to Clear Creek (North of Buena Vista and south of Twin Lakes). Our plan was to hike Huron Peak on Sunday morning, so we headed out around noon on Saturday to get some fishing in. My brother-in-law has only been fly fishing a couple time and has never caught a fish on a fly rod so I was really hoping the lesser fished South Fork of Clear Creek would be the ticket. So we drove back through the Ghost Towns of Vicksburg and Winfield. Past Winfield it is pretty much a 4 wheel drive only road. Since the trailhead for Huron was back there, it was pretty convenient. We ended up setting up camp in this nice valley in the shadows of Boston Peak (identifiable the pantlegs on the side of it). Anyway the South Fork of Clear Creek ended up being a very pleasant surprise. My brother-in-law found a nice beaver pond to his liking and caught his first three fish on a fly rod. He was very pleased.

On Sunday we started our climb around 7:00 and successfully reached the summit at 11:00. We met some nice people at the top, one of which had flown in from Chicago and who was 69 years old. He was a really nice guy and when we were driving out we came across him again on the side of the road relaxing and playing his violin! Anyway, we had a great trip and the views were amazing.
