 Yale-Denny Creek

I left Silt @ 1am Saturday morn in my Honda Civic (cause the Jeep is scheduled for some repair). The Denny Creed TH was the only TH I could think of that is paved and Civic accessable. So Mt.Yale made the "cut" for a go!
Got to the parking lot, geared up and hit the trail just after 5am with headlamp. These old eyes and a headlamp make it difficule to sign register but did and continued on. Made it to tree line in about two hours. Dang, that was just the start of what turned out to be an 11 hour day( including 1 hour on summit.)
Mt. Yale from Denny Creek is listed as a 4300' verticle which is way more vert than I have done this year.(in a single outing) The trail ,after the tree line climbs relentlessly to the base of the summit ridge where it begins what is termed switchbacks(?) for a loose and grueling ascent to the top of the summit ridge.
Stow the hiking poles away and pick way up,interesting rock hopping to the summit. There isn't an IHOP or Denny's on the top however there was an diverse and interesting group of people as always. Hats off to all I encountered on an long day in the mountains. (CarpeDM was there)
Ran out of water on way down (alittle more in Camelback next time )
