 training of sorts

The time stamp on my self serve $10 pass was 6:57am. The machine almost fooled me but I got it handled.
Drove up and parked at Summit Lake. This will be my starting point! My plan was to ascend #10 and return down #5. There is no trail up the steep ridge. Talus and more talus intermixed with some tundra that made me very uncomfortable when I had to step on the "green". Not only uncomfortable of damage but the wet "green" made next couple steps onto rocks somewhat slippery(hiking poles were very handy).
I picked my way up ,trying to remember as much as posible of route discription! After cresting the initial point,I tried to stay kinda close to the edge of the ridge. The hands went down only a few times as the talus turned to boulders and the peeks over the vertical edge had my attention (and took my breath) The clouds continually were blowing in
from over to the west, sureal (SP).
I did recall, from Bill route (#10) that I woulde have to work myself to the left at some point and that point came near the end. Had to down climb a bit (face forward on butt extending legs) to attain summit trail.

Met a couple other 14ers.com folks each taking different paths to the same goal.

I still can't believe you did that face, great job on it! I hope those Tennessee boys make it okay on Longs today.
