This was YorkKid2's first 14er. He was 5 years old at the time. We decided to camp out the night before the climb. We stayed at the Guanella Pass Campground (Elevation: 10,900 Ft) the night before. This campground is located ~ 2 miles from the Mt. Bierstadt trailhead (Elevation: 11,669 Ft) on the Georgetown side of the pass.
YorkKid2 was excited to get started on his first 14er adventure. We got started at about 8:55 AM. Here is a photo of us as we are just getting started. Mt. Bierstadt (right) and the Sawtooth Ridge (left) are poking up beyond the first hill/ridge.
Here are some photographs of YorkKid2 as we continued up towards the summit of Bierstadt.

We reached the summit at 11:45 AM (a little under 3 hours).

It got very windy on the peak. This wasn't a good thing because YorkKid2 had a very strong fear of the high winds when he was 5 years old. He wasn't very happy (photos omitted). At this point I thought that YorkKid2 might not do another peak with me for a while, but I was wrong. He became quite excited and proud of his accomplishment as soon as we got out of the high wind. In any event we started down the mountain at about noon. Here are some photos of YorkKid2 on his way down the mountain.

We made it down to the creek near the beginning of the trailhead by 2:30 PM.
YorkKid2 was still feeling strong, and was quite euphoric over his accomplishment.
Congrats YorkKid2!
Love ya,
Dad

Do I see a future mountain climber here?
I have no experience with little kids in the mountains but it sure looks like he had a good time on Bierstadt! You're getting him into a very rewarding sport! Keep up all the positive encouragement you can.
That pic of him holding the cannister is awesome. It looks like he's about ready to tear the thing from the rock and run off with it!
