Belford standard route - this your gear?

Had a late start at 9:10 am. Saw three pieces of lost and found gear on this hike, see pics of those at the end of the report. Quick summary: A nice eight-mile jaunt, plenty of trees at the start, nice flowers, steep at the beginning of the ridge, but with considerable work done on the trail in the past. A fine view of Mount Missouri. A funny-looking summit cap made of rugged, knarly rock. Clouds built up, but I got no rain. Saw about nine other people on the trail, plus about six more on the summit itself.

The grave (five minutes from the trailhead) of the infant that died in the 1800's.

The bridge across the creek. Kind of springy. Not sure how much weight it could bear…

Near the bridge, a swarm of insects swirling in the sunlight.

In this area, there were also lots of columbines blooming.

Looking down into the couloir that runs to the left of most of the ridge.

A frosty ball flower, not yet blooming

This marmot ignored me completely, just lay there taking in the sun.

There's a great view of Missouri Mountain.

The rugged cap of Belford came into sight.

Made it to the summit at 12:30 pm.

Found this dead hiker on the summit. Just kidding! I think he and his buddy were napping while their pals did Oxford.

Another look at the knarly rock of the summit cap.

Got back to the trail head at 3:20 pm, six hours ten minutes roundtrip.
Gear lost by others on the trail:
