Three tele skiers camped at the vehicle turn-around below the Blue Lake dam. The road is passable up to that point. There were two other climbers already camped on the other side of the dam who had climbed Cristo that day. They said the ascent was quite soft, but they started after 9:00 am. We left camp on 5/9 at 5:50 am and started up the couloir, following two sets of boot tracks. We had crampons with us, but they weren‘t necessary. Ice axes and tele boots were adequate. Just above 13,000‘ the recent snow became soft enough that it became necessary to kick our own tracks. We summited at 8:30 and hung out until we thought the couloir would be soft enough for an enjoyable descent. At 9:30 the upper 400-500‘ (vert) of the descent was still somewhat crusty with 1 1/2" of firm breakable snow on top of the newer snow, and the temp was still below freezing. Once we reached ~13,700 the snow had softened to the point that we could shred (with caution!). With current snow conditions we could ski almost to lake-level, making the walk out very nice. The couloir was well covered, but we did notice some barely covered rocks, especially along the edges.
