 Longs Peak via Keyhole

Climbed the big boy today. All the "lesser" peaks have been valuable for this grand daddy of the Front Range. This peak has been on the top of my list for many years and has caused much internal turmoil - did I have what it takes to summit (& return in one piece)? Let‘s find out...

Hit the TH: 3:15 AM
Keyhole: 6:00 AM
Summit: 7:30 AM
Start Descent after rest break: 8:00 AM
Back at Keyhole: 9:30 AM
Start descent again after break/answer misc questions from onlookers at keyhole: 9:45 AM
Back at TH: 12:15 PM

Total trip time with breaks: 9 hours
Total trip time w/o breaks: 8.25 hours (smokin‘ baby!!!!)

All in all a grand day on a grand mountain in a grand national park area.

Since Bill has excellent photos of the trail route I offer the following "distant" shots of this peak.

Moon shot - great full moon today
