 Mt Princeton - Standard Route

Completed Princeton this past Saturday. Met some GREAT folks on the route (..and a few of the usual poo-poo‘s that wouldn‘t be caught dead speaking to you.....ah yes, Colorado...feel the love.....typical )

A couple of items to note....

1. I think I saw a couple of dozen different approaches to the summit that day, and I certainly can‘t blame anyone for that; THE route, as it were, has a tendancy to disappear REAL fast amid the continuous ( and quite relentless ) talus and boulders that comprise these sectors of Princeton. Case in point....I mixed-and-matched both my ascent AND decent on the upper reaches....crazy. The trail system up beyond 12,000ft ( let‘s say ) has no rhyme or reason whatsoever, so.....player‘s choice, and good luck!

2. I‘m beginning to have mixed feelings about the hey-look-ma-I-can-drive-halfway-up-the-mountain kind of deals one may find in places like Princeton, or Pikes, etc. I mean, God Bless you if you‘ve got the capability to drive the fun-ville jeep roads to a higher starting point, saving time, your legs, etc.....but am I wrong to sense some cheating in that?? I just know I felt like I experienced ( and CLIMBED HONESTLY )the ENTIRE mountain by doing it fair and square, under my own power, from the very beginning ( speaking of some of the poo-poo‘s I mentioned earlier.......)

Thanks for reading folks....Peace and Blessings to all, and to all GREAT climbing, and continuing accomplishments. Rock ON!

-Ken
