 Castle-NE Ridge

Made it up to the Pearl Pass junction at 11,200‘ in my Tacoma without any problems, creek crossing was about a foot deep over smooth rocks. The hike up the 4X4 road is cake. The snow fields up the first wall were a bit slick in the am, but made for a fun glissade on the way down. Finding the trail for the NE ridge route was obvious. The trail was nice and steady up to the ridge. On the ridge there was some scrambling to do, but the trail was obvious, I would call it 2+ with some moderate exposure. The hike down the other side of Castle to Conundrum had a lot of loose rock, but not too bad. I saw a guy glissade down the Castle-Conundrum saddle without a problem. I had left my wife on the top of Castle, so I came back the way I came. Round trip about 7 hours with breaks, plus my wife likes to take her time-but she made it!
