 Bierstadt-Guanella Pass

30% chance of rain--Yeah Right! Drizzle all the way up and steady rain all the way down But, that didn‘t stop us. We missed the turn off for the trailhead because of the silt-fence and our path hit a dead-end. We decided to just bash through the willows and got back on the correct trail, with some added moisture. Once on the trail we traveled at a quick pace through the rain and drizzle. Reached the summit in 2 hrs 36 minutes finally arriving at the register and marker at 9:36am. The original plan was to cross the Sawtooth to Mt. Evans but, with the clouds and rain we opted to head back down. On the descent, a river of mud ran with us and rain began to fall harder...we agreed that it was a wise choice to not attempt the Sawtooth on slippery rocks. All in all it was a wonderful experience! We are hooked and plan on doing Mt. Elbert on the 22nd
