 Mt. Spaulding Route

We got up to Summit Lake at around 8:45am. Started hiking the Mt. Spaulding Route, which was very easy to follow. There were a lot of trail markers to help guide you in the boulder fields. The hike was not very difficult, and it lead to some great views at Mt. Spaulding.

We reached the summit of Evans at 11:00am. The fact that there is a road to take people all the way to the top slightly ruined the satisfaction of reaching the summit. (Since it was a holiday, there were a ton of people driving up there to see the view) We spent about 30 mins there. Luckily there was a bit of sun the whole way up, and we left just as the clouds were rolling in.

We took a different route down to the bottom, just so we didn‘t get caught in the rain. It was a nice way down because there were many tiny yellow wildflowers sprinkled around the path. We reached our car at 12:30pm, just as a dark cloud was looming over the peak.

Great route with great views.
