Report:
This mini report is mainly just a quick summary with some favorite photos from my 1st 14er. I definitely had a challenging time with the elevation gain and altitude but I loved it and want to keep hiking more 13ers and 14ers now!
Can't remember the actual weather but probably low 40s to high 60s and moderate wind. I hung out in Guanella Pass the day before and ended up sleeping in my vehicle in the parking lot overnight - there were a few other people but not too busy. Waking up a little before 5am, there was already decent crowd and the lot was starting to fill up - not sure if it is always like that or if it was because of the holiday weekend. It wasn't too busy on the way up, but around 8-9am on the way down, the trail was packed. The wildflowers looked beautiful! I didn't see too much wildlife other than a yellow-bellied marmot towards the top.
Overall, it was a great first experience hiking a 14er and I want to do some more! What is everyone's recommendations for a 2nd 14er?
