 Sundog-Sunshine-Redcloud Loop on July 30, 2005

I climbed Sundog (13,432 ft), Sunshine Peak, and Redcloud on July 30, 2005. I ascended Sundogs Northwest Ridge, traversed to Sunshine, traversed to Redcloud, and then descended by the Silver Creek Trail. This was a very nice route because I bagged Sundog (Colorados 299th tallest peak) and didnt have to (a) retrace my steps up and over Redcloud or (b) descend the nasty scree/talus gullies into South Fork Basin (which the BLM requests hikers not do because the erosion it causes). I highly reccomend it.

- 05:45 Leave Silver Creek Trailhead
- 06:45 Reach timberline on Sundogs Northwest Ridge
- 07:45 Reach the summit of Sundog
- 09:00 Reach the summit of Sunshine
- 10:00 Depart the summit of Redcloud
- 11:45 Return to Silver Creek Trailhead

Photos from the hike can be found on my web site: http://www.leachfam.com/securearea/subcategory.php?subcategoryid=107
