 Fourmile Creek TH on 2/8/06

I drove up to Sherman yesterday morning and was pleased to find Colorado 18 was dry up to about three quarters of a mile below the old Leavick site. At that point though the plows looked like they had not gone any further all season, so I stopped there. I put on my skis and skinned up to a little ways below the Dauntless mine. There was continuous snow at least up to that point, and skis or snowshoes would be reccomended. I had to turn back due to problems with my new, and obviously not well broken in enough, ski boots rubbing some nasty blisters. From what I could see of the remaining route it wouldnt be too big a hassle to summit Sherman from Fourmile Creek, if your gear is working correctly.
