 Mount Lindsey 7/1/05

Left the Lily Lake Trailhead at 7am on Friday. The logs stretching across the stream were frozen solid, so my friend Chad and I had to simply cross the creek barefoot (quite cold, but invigorating). There were some small snow fields just below tree line, but I did not even bother putting on my gaiters.

Above 13,000 feet, there were about three small, but very slippery snow fields on some steep potions of the trail. The coulier one has to climb still had snow in the bottom, but we simply climbed to the right of the snow with little problem. We did have a rock nearly hit our group despite no one being above us, so please beware.

This was my friend Chads first 14er. We gained the summit at about 11am. The descent then took another three hours. Overall, it was a beautiful day on a challenging but doable trail.
