 Evans Ascent

Climbed Bierstadt and Evans from Guanella Pass on what was a great morning and not so great afternoon.

Started hiking at 5:45am and when we arrived on top of Bierstadt it was heavenly, no wind, warm, clear. All around great time on the peak.

Traversed the sawtooth and was coming down from Evans at 11:15 as storms started building. I was very surprised that people were still going up with over a mile left and a good bit of lightning in the area. We saw hail and lightning all around until we were able to make to the avalanche chute NW of the sawtooth. Descended and went through the infamous willows, and more willows as the sky slowly cleared. All in all a great day to be on the mountian, just a little testy.

PS- It took about an hour to go the 12 miles down the pass due to construction stops.
