Democrat NW Ridge via Montgomery Res- 6-18-05

Climbed Democrats NW Ridge from Montgomery Reservoir on Saturday. The class 3 climbing is a blast on this ridge. Here is a pic of the notch section:

I would suggest this route to anyone who wants a more interesting alternative to Kite Lake, and more solitude. Stay on the ridge crest immediately after the notches for the best scrambling. There are a few places where you have to deal with snow (6-18-05), but if you stay on the ridge, its minimal. Took us 4 hours to summit Democrat from the Montgomery Reservoir trailhead. Continued to Cameron, then Bross, back over to Lincoln then down Lincoln Ampitheater to Montgomery Reservoir. Took us 10 hours with several long breaks on the summits. 11.8 miles, 4600
