Sawatch Me Do Three

Missouri Mountain, Iowa Peak, and Emerald Peak Grand Slam
~15.5 miles round-trip, ~6,300' elevation gain.

Part of me feels disconcerted with the recent lack of snow in Colorado. A much larger part of me relishes in the snow-shortage and was ecstatic to do a relatively dry 14er in mid-November. This weather certainly is not characteristic of our beautiful state but I'm all about dry conditions, baby. Initially, we had only planned to do Missouri Mountain. At the summit however, Iowa Peak and Emerald Peak called my name and drew me towards them like I was a moth and they were porch lights. I feel somewhat bad for my friend who had tagged along"we ended up kind of regretting the additional ascents. Missouri Mountain was my final Sawatch 14er and what a blast it was to ascend.

I like this report format much better -- much easier to read and see your photos! Some excellent shots too! Been back there 4x now but never climbed my home state's mt. May have to give it a try someday! Thanks for sharing!
