 Fun Times Above Telluride

Our hike on the Deep Creek Trail started at 4:30am from the Mill Creek TH. We covered 11 miles and 6500 vertical in 11 hours. We didn't bother trying to find Stan's Shortcut. The climb was challenging and fun with fantastic views. We took a 60 meter rope.... Camelots to #2... rack of nuts.... and a bunch of slings. There are spots to place larger gear (#3-#4) but no need weigh yourself down with the big stuff.

Here are some pictures and commentary from our trip.

Congrats on the climb. You have some awesome canyon pics on your website. The flesh wounds section is unreal. I especially like the road-rashed ass. Injury pics would make for a macabre but interesting forum topic. I envision a scene similar to the one in Jaws.

Good luck and be safe in your future endeavors.

We didn’t bother, either. The peak was much more straightforward than we’d expected. Impressive peak, breathtaking rappel drop off. Not wholly sure how you turned the crux into two pitches, though? Congrats! Fun peak, nice pics.
