Sangres Skiing is as good as it gets

The Sangres are having a great year. If you've been hoping to ski the Crestones, and never seem to get the right conditions, this is your year. The Sangres are IN.

When we skied Crestone in 2007, our route up Cottonwood Creek took us past a bunch of ski lines that we filed away in our personal ski lists, waiting for the timing to return. Yeah, access is a pain in the Sangres, but I guess that's part of the charm, similar to aficionados of the Gore. We had a couple of lines in mind, but agreed on a line which I had erroneously thought was on Pico Aslaido. It's a beauty, and drops basically from the summit of UN 13,020. We put over 40 photos on our TR, if you want to see more. Opensnow reported another 18" or so in Crestone from this last storm. Coverage is rarely this good.

Considerably better way to summit and descend that one rather than the summer routes. Check out the NE Couly on Eureka.
