 Mt Toll Southeast Face

Distance 13.3 Miles RT
Vertical 3,800 Feet
Time 9.5 Hours

Mt Toll is prime right now. Perfect conditions for a solid skin, climb and descent. We started from the Main Brainard Lake Gate. The road to the Mitchell Lake TH is still 90% covered in hard packed snow. We strapped skis and boots to the packs and walked in sneakers to TH. From there is was perfect skinning all the way to Tolls base. We used crampons and an axe to climb up Toll. Beautiful weather up top. The descent was great. We were pretty late in the afternoon but the snow was mixed corn and hard pack. Safe conditions. No visible wet slides in the area. Small cornice above the Route. Nothing to be too concerned about. We were able to ski all the way back down to Brainard Lakes Bridge. Couple flat spots to deal with but no need to re skin up. Then we hoofed it out. Still to early for bikes.
