Hagerman's Southwest Ridge: Lead King is BEAUTIFUL

On the weekend of our wedding anniversary my wife Kristi and I braved the 4WD road from Marble to the Lead King Basin Trailhead in the dark... it was quite fun. The next morning... given the clear weather forecast... we started hiking around 7:30am. Between the weather... the amazing fall colors... and the fantastic scramble up Hagerman's Southwest Ridge... we had a day that won't soon be forgotten. Our round trip time was roughly 9 hours including an hour or more of leisure time. Pictures and commentary from the trip can be found using this link:

Hagerman Peak - Southwest Ridge

Also... for a little extra credit... we explored a different decent route (northwest branch on the map/gpx)... this route worked... but was not nearly as good as our ascent route (southeast branch on the map/gpx).

Doing that 4WD road in the dark . . . yeah, that would be a lot of fun. Although I have a friend who would probably prefer it that way so as not have to see how far we'd roll if I messed up (assuming the high 4WD was taken).

Congrats on your summit, and nice fall pics.

And one of those pages on your website is rather interesting, to say the least. Hope you don't have anymore additions to that page.
