Wheeler Peak West Face Ski (New Mexico)

Made a 1 day road trip 275 miles south to Taos, New Mexico to find clear skies and some decent skiing. Found both on the state's high point. Here is a link to the adventure and a few shots :

You guys should really let Dillon bring some skis on one of these trips.

Wheeler is a nice little ski isn't it? I rode that a few years ago because it was the highest and hence the one I could find some information on in Colorado. Lots of other lines in that basin that would be fun in the future too!

I really want to climb Wheeler Peak. No idea why. Love Taos, love NM, and I'll be back to reread your TR for your beta one of these days when I go down to bag it

Dave - Dillon is afraid of skis for some reason. But he brings 4-packs of Redacted, so it evens out in the end.

Zach - your TR, along with Scott Tsu and a few others were used in the forming of this impulsive last minute plan. And agree on other lines in the future.

Forbins - Go climb it and that'll answer why. Its so close to Colorado, but is different in a way. No idea how to explain it, just gotta see for yourself.

Mike - Old Mike looked tempting. Its right there. You could ski out that basin as well, just longer. Thanks for the comment.

Glad to see we'll still see some TR's from you Brian and not all in book form . I've been wanting to do this peak for a while now. Great write up and pictures as usual.
