A Great Day to be High

Snow fell, the skies cleared, the sun rose, and a fun local winter 13er was skied.

I've been meaning to ski that line myself, just was never sure about snow coverage. Thanks for increasing my list

Great that you got it with good snow. From the top! How was the stability in the narrow gully leading to the upper slopes?

One of the good things about Mt. Helen is that it has relatively easy access and mellow slopes, compared to other peaks in the area. I've never had a bad ski day up there but not all of them are from the top.

We didn't see any signs of instability throughout the entire tour. The snow quality of course was better towards the bottom of the face but the stratugi up top wasn't rock hard either so it was a great ski from top to bottom! Holy Father Dyer! Thats another spring line on the list as well

I was really surprised that I have never been up here before given the mellow slopes and easy access. At only 2 hours to summit and 2700ft of skiing, I will definitely be skiing this line more in the future!
